Art Journal Pages

Hi!

This is as good a place as any to collect some of my art journal images for you to rummage through. I'll include links to blog pages where relevant and a short list of materials used. If you want to know more about any image, it's process or media used, just leave a comment or message me and I'll get back to you asap. Much love - Shroo :)

The following few images are from some of my homemade mini pocket journals - easy to make and ideal for quick journaling. They measure roughly 4"x5.5" and are pamphlet stitched, single signature books of mixed paper off-cuts. I have to admit that I really do like them.

Backgrounds are collaged pieces of scrapbook paper off-cuts, kitchen roll and baby wipes dyed with paint and ink from mopping up excess on other art pieces, tissue paper and crumpled (to soften it and to add texture) kraft  paper. Media used: Caran D'Ache neocolor II soluble wax pastels, Derwent inktense pencils and bars, Derwent Artbars, acrylic inks and paints, black india ink, black and white gel pens, Tattered angels Glimmer and chalk sprays, Glimmer Glazes and Glams, Cosmic Shimmer inks and watercolours and various colors of Treasure Gold gilding wax paste.

Another purple kitty. Every book HAS to have a purple kitty piccy.
Caran D'Ache Neocolor II soluble wax pastels on book pages. Swirly bits added with the end of a paintbrush!

Froggy frog of frogness. Background achieved by blobbing Golden fluid acrylic paints and Vintaj yellow patina ink to one side then folding over the page and squishing, ending up with this awesomely textured pattern, made more leaf-like by adding Treasure Gold gilding wax (Classic colour) to the raised ridges in the dried paint.
Froggy - Faber Castell watercolour pencils and Derwent Inktense pencils splooshed on and allowed to blend, assisted by small drops of Ranger Distress Inks (re-inkers). Other media used: Cosmic Shimmer inks, black india ink, black art pen. Gloss "wet" look on froggy was achieved with a couple of thick, lumpy coats of glossy Mod Podge. Heavily textured page!

Foxes - another obsession.... media used: Cretacolor Aquastic soluble wax pastels, Derwent inktense pencil (outline and detail).
